Triumph Debuts 2024 Tiger 1200 Adventure Motorcycle Range

Though BMW, Ducati, and KTM once dominated the full-size adventure motorcycle segment, a number of other major manufacturers have steadily been making up ground in recent years. One such outfit is Triumph, which has tossed its hat in the ring with its big-bore Tiger 1200 adventure bike range. And after receiving a major model overhaul in 2022, the Hinckley firm has once again returned to the drawing board, this time bestowing the 1200 with a host of minor updates that collectively add up to a markedly more capable and comfortable ADV model.

The 2024 model year Triumph Tiger 1200 lineup is being offered across two trim levels (at least for the U.S. market). This includes the Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer and the even more hardcore off-road-focused Tiger 1200 GT Explorer. Both models are kicked along by a revised liquid-cooled 1,160cc T-Plane inline-three engine that delivers more tractable power deliver and cranks out 147hp and 96ft-lbs of torque — at 9,000rpm and 7,000rpm, respectively. What’s more, both models also benefit from updated ergonomics, bolstered comfort, multiple new livery options, a reduced seat height thanks to Active Preload Reduction, and, in the case of the GT Explorer, improved ground clearance.

Another massive part of what makes these 2024 model year ADV bikes so special is undoubtedly the laundry list of amenities and systems that now come as standard across both the GT Explorer and Rally Explorer. This includes — but isn’t limited to — Brembo Stylema brakes, a multi-directional quick-shifter, a skid plate, hand guards, a center stand, heated passenger and rider grips, a 30-liter fuel cell, Showa semi-active suspension, a full suite of crash bars, rear radar blind spot detection, and a bevy of advanced electronics and rider assists such as a Bluetooth-connected 7” TFT display, cruise control, hill hold, a tire pressure monitoring system, cornering ABS and traction control, multiple ride modes, and a keyless ignition and fuel cap.

Slated to hit North American dealerships this Spring, the 2024 Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer and Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer have been priced starting at $23,795 and $24,895, respectively.
