Crocs may have once only been popular among kids and fans of campy footwear, but the label has proven itself to be one to watch, elevating its iconic clog through collabs and runway appearances. And with this newfound appreciation and popularity, Crocs is expanding its catalog with more daring silhouettes like the very hypebeast-y Echo Storm slip-ons. Now, the label is back with another sneaker-style silhouette: the chunky Crocs Nova Trek.

There’s no official build description of the silhouette just yet, but it’s likely that the contrasting upper is made from the label’s proprietary Croslite foam. This foam houses what looks to be a mesh inner layer (exposed on the sides of the shoes through a cool little window), with plenty of cushioning around the ankles and in the midsole, and a hiker-inspired lacing system. The outsole here looks more similar to the All-Terrain Clog’s compared to the traditional clog silhouette (meaning these might be able to handle the trails), and it’s finished with those unmistakably Crocs circular vents.

This has to be one of Crocs‘ most impressive silhouettes by far, and it lands perfectly at a time in the fashion scene when chunky kicks are at a fever pitch. The trademark circular vents on the upper really add to the beefy design and futuristic look, and hopefully, this look will make its way to the label’s outdoor offerings. 

The Crocs Nova Trek is currently available through atmos Japan via a lottery, which you can enter from Friday, March 22 to Wednesday, March 27, for a chance to win/purchase them for ¥16,500 (~$110). Winners will be announced on Thursday, March 28th, and you can choose from the white colorway or the green colorway. There’s no info regarding a Western release quite yet, but it’s not likely that Crocs will keep these under wraps for long.
