Music wasn’t the only art The Beatles created together. The four band members also produced a painting called Images of a Women. The acrylic and watercolor artwork was made in 1966 when The Beatles stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Tokyo. From June 29 to July 3, they were somewhat forced to stay on the property for safety reasons and passed the time by painting. Each member put their touch on a corner until they reached the center of the Japanese art paper. The original piece was given to The Beatles Fan Club in Tokyo after the tour and kept by President Tetsusaburo Shimoyama for 40 years until it was sold in 2012. Signed by signed John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, and George Harrison, Christie’s is now auctioning Images of a Women during the Exceptional Sale on February 1, 2024.
