Tennis icon Roger Federer is back in the spotlight, this time teaming up with Wilson to launch the RF Collection, a years-in-the-making tennis equipment line. The collection is rooted in legacy and driven by performance, reflecting Federer’s enduring impact on the sport.
Roger Federer x Wilson: The RF Collection
Fresh from fronting Louis Vuitton’s Core Values advertisement, Federer is once again making headlines with his latest collaboration. The RF Collection drops on August 8, 2024, coinciding with Federer’s 43rd birthday.
This milestone marks a new chapter in the tennis legend’s over twenty-year partnership with Wilson.
“Wilson’s partnership with Roger over the last 20 years has been one of the most remarkable relationships in the history of sport, and we are thrilled to take it to the next level with the RF Collection,” says Jason Collins, Global General Manager of Wilson Racquet Sports.
So, what can we expect from the RF Collection? A premium performance tennis racket line, for starters. The RF 01 line was developed in collaboration with Federer, who worked with Wilson in 2022 to create a racket to increase head speed while maintaining his signature style.
“Having spent my whole career playing with Wilson rackets, I’m excited about the new RF Collection that we’ve created together,” Federer says.
The RF 01 line includes three racket models designed and tested by Federer himself. The RF 01 PRO is his personally built racket, designed for the most discerning players.
The RF 01 is geared towards advanced adult players who prioritize performance. Meanwhile, the RF 01 FUTURE is perfect for young players looking to develop their skills with a lighter frame.
But the RF Collection is more than just rackets. It also features a range of performance bags and accessories, from racket bags and backpacks to replacement grips.
As the RF Collection prepares to make its mark on the tennis world, it’s clear that Federer’s legacy is in good hands. Collins notes, “Roger is a powerful force on the global stage, and his influence will undoubtedly continue to drive the sport of tennis and industry as a whole forward.”
