Porsche Unveils The 2025 911 Carrera T, And It Only Comes In Manual

In 1968 Porsche rolled out the 911 T — a touring-spec variant of the Stuttgart marque’s flagship sports car. The first-generation 911 T was produced through 1973 before the plug was eventually pulled. The 911 T was then revived in 2017 in its modern form, and after receiving an incredibly warm reception from the motoring public, Porsche has now opted to introduce yet another modern-day T-spec for the 2025 model year.

The Basics

For the third time, Porsche has introduced a touring-focused T-spec of its famed 911. Offered in coupe and cabriolet versions, this new trim is modeled around the base model 911 Carrera, though gains a host of upgrades and add-ons all as standard amenities.

Powertrain & Performance

Powering the 911 Carrera T is the same mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six used in the base model 911. Good for 388hp and 331ft-lbs of torque — all of which is sent to the car’s rear wheels — the twin-turbo boxer mill allows the T-spec to clock 0-60mph runs in as little as 4.3 seconds, and hit a top speed of 183mph. Fitted with a Sport exhaust system as standard, the 911 T Carrera also features a six-speed manual gearbox — the only transmission option offered on the third-gen tourer.

Hardware & Running Gear

Bolstering handling is the Porsche Active Suspension Management system which has been tuned specifically for the Carrera T — and lowered by 10 millimeters compared to the 911 Carrera. This suspension setup comes as standard too, as does rear-axle steering and front and rear roll bars. Fitted with upgraded braking hardware with six-piston calipers, the entire thing rides on a set of Carrera S alloy wheels in staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear sizes.

Inside The Car

The interior of the 911 Carrera T boasts black anodized aluminum door panel trim, lightweight glass, a special open-pore, laminated walnut shift knob, an available Sport Chrono clock, and four-way power-adjustable heated Sport Seats Plus that can be upgraded to 18-way Sport Seats Plus or fixed-back CFRP Full Bucket seats. Best of all, Porsche is selling the vehicle with the option of equipping it with its retro-inspired Sport-Tex Plaid interior package.
