Porsche Unveils 2025 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid

Following in the footsteps of the Stuttgart marque’s late ’80s/early ‘90s era 989 Concept, the Porsche Panamera first hit the market in 2009, and though it shares much of its DNA with the fabled 911, the motoring pubic was initially unsure what to make of the front-engined four-door. Over the years, however, the vehicle has proven itself to be more-than-worthy of bearing the Porsche name thanks to its nimble handling and immense power.

And this has never been more true than with the latest iteration of the model, the 2025 model year Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.

The Basics

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is a third-generation model that’s constructed around the Porsche Active Ride Chassis and fitted with an air suspension package that allows the car to be lowered or raised by 55mm. Alongside a plush interior that gains a host of Turbo-spec-exclusive features, the car also benefits from the use of rear-axle steering, Porsche Traction Management, and the latest version of Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. The new model also comes standard with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes.

Twin-Turbo Hybrid Powertrain

The most powerful production Panamera thus far, the 2025 Turbo S E-Hybrid-spec is powered by a newly-developed 4.0-liter V8 cranking out 591hp and 590ft lbs of torque. In addition to sporting a twin turbocharger setup, the V8 also comes fitted with a 134-kW electric motor that adds an extra 180hp and 331ft-lbs of instantly-accessible torque. This ultimately results in a collective output of 771hp and 737ft-lbs of torque. Spinning at up to 6,800RPM, the engine comes bolted to an eight-speed PDK paired with active all wheel drive.

Electric Motor & Battery

The car is also capable of running solely off of its electric motor, which affords an 87-mph top speed and 54 miles of range on its own. The electric motor also draws from a 25.9-kWh battery that can receive a 0% to 100% recharge in as little as 3.3 hours. The new model’s battery is also able to store 45% more energy than its predecessor’s cell.

Performance Capabilities

Tipping the scales at 5,311lbs at the curb, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid more-than-700 horses and advanced all-wheel drive system allow it to deliver performance capabilities that are typically reserved for seven-figure super cars and hypercars. The daily-drivable four-door can reach 60mph from a standstill in a lightning-fast 2.8 seconds (when fitted with the model’s available Sport Chrono package. What’s more, the Turbo S E-Hybrid-spec can also achieve a 202-mph top-speed and has the ability to clock quarter mile runs in just 10.8 seconds (again, when optioned with the Sport Chrono package).

Daily Drivability

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid offers luxurious and spacious seating for five, making it ideal for daily driving, family-hauling, and grocery-getting duties. These areas are furthered by the model’s rear luggage compartment which offers approximately 15 cubic feet of storage — plus it can afford up to 44.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

Why It’s So Special

Though it’s an unmistakably high-end-looking vehicle, the latest Panamera model resembles your average luxury sedan much more than it does a 200-mph supercar. And, despite its extreme speed and performance capabilities, the car is daily drivable through and through — a rarity for vehicles of this caliber.

A Record-Setting Ride

To prove what it’s capable of, Porsche opted to unleash the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid onto the legendary Nordschleife circuit at the Nürburgring. With Porsche development driver Lars Kern at the helm, the Turbo S E-Hybrid-spec was able to complete a full lap in just 7:24 — making it the fastest combustion engine and hybrid luxury sedan ever to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
