Since first hitting the market approximately two years ago, the OMEGA watch brand and Swatch’s Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection has become one of the most hyped horological releases in recent history. The immense success of this collection has ultimately prompted the two brands to deliver numerous followup references from this same collection — the latest of which to break cover is the all-new Swatch Mission To The Moonphase Moonswatch. 

Though it may at first appear to be a random Snoopy-spec version of the existing model, the Mission To The Moonphase Moonswatch is actually deeply rooted in history. This all-white timepiece pays homage to the Silver Snoopy Award, which is a highly coveted NASA award given to individuals and organizations for outstanding achievements related to human flight safety or mission success. In 1970, this OMEGA was crowned with this award for the role it played in providing the on-wrist timing instruments for the crew of Apollo 13. Like prior iterations of the timepiece, the Mission To The Moonphase Moonswatch is constructed around a 42mm Bioceramic case with a fixed bezel, a 13.75mm thickness, a 47.30mm lug-to-lug, 100 feet of water resistance, and a matching all-white Velcro strap. 

Separating this new release from other members of the MoonSwatch family is an all-white color scheme contrasted via black numerals, hour markers, and hands. Further distinguishing it from existing MoonSwatch references is the watch’s 2 o’clock sub-dial which has been swapped out in favor of a moon phase disc that features the eight different observable phases that comprise the lunar cycle. Decorated with an illustration of Snoopy sleeping on a half moon, this sub-dial also features hidden Grade A Super-LumiNova lume that glows a bright blue — and includes the tongue-in-cheek phrase “I Can’t Sleep Without A Night Light!”. 

Available at select Swatch stores in the coming days, the Swatch Mission To The Moonphase Moonswatch has been priced at $310.
