Munro Vehicles Unveils Production-Ready Series M Electric Truck

For the last few years, Scottish EV truck startup Munro Vehicles has been teasing the development of its forthcoming flagship model. Originally known as the MK_1 during its near-half-decade-long development cycle, Munro’s inaugural automotive offering is now being revealed in its final production-ready form along with official pricing and specs.

The only production vehicles currently being made in Scotland, the M Series is being built in two different model variants — both of which take their name from their electric motors’ respective power (kilowatt) output. The lower-specced M170 is kicked along by a 170kW (228hp) axial-flux motor with with permanent four-wheel-drive, a 4,960-pound towing capacity, and an 85kWh LFP battery system offering 195 miles of range. The more premium M280 packs a 280kW (375.5hp) axial-flux motor with permanent four-wheel-drive, a 7,716-pound tow rating, and an 85kWh LFP battery system giving over 195 miles of range — as well as ABS, ESP, and traction control, all as standard.

Both the M170 and M280 are being offered in two different versions; the U (short for utility) SUV/station wagon variant; and the T (truck) spec which sports a pickup bed. Additionally, alongside a slew of body color, paint finish, and interior upholstery options, these electric off-roaders are being offered with a huge slew of available factory options include underbody protection, rock sliders, locking front and rear differentials, air suspension, and a tow kit, just to name a few. As one can probably guess from the M Series’ appearance, these EV trucks have been engineered from the ground up with a primary focus on utility and off-road capabilities, and are expected to usher in a new standard for go-anywhere performance prowess for production vehicles.

The Munro Vehicles Series M is available for preorder now, with prices starting at $93,528 for the M170 model and $110,757 for the more powerful M280 variant. Both models are also being offered in right-hand drive or left-hand drive versions — opening the door to sales in a wide array of different countries.
