Mercedes-AMG Unveils 2025 GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ “Motorsport Collectors Edition”

In 2010, the Brawn GP team was bought out and rebranded to the Mercedes‑AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, marking the first time that Mercedes has operated a full-fledged factory works team in over-half-a-century. Over the subsequent decade-and-a-half, Mercedes-AMG’s vehicles have been benefitting from genuine F1 technology that’s managed to trickle its way down to production model. And while the AMG PETRONAS race cars have long been influencing the mechanics of Mercedes’ cars, the factory-backed Formula 1 team’s rides are also now serving as the visual inspiration for the marque’s vehicles in the form of the limited edition race-liveried Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ “Motorsport Collectors Edition”.

The Basics

A 2025 model year offering, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ “Motorsport Collectors Edition” is a special edition version of the V8-powered two-seater that’s been cloaked in an F1-inspired livery and hit with a slew of special interior details. Multiple optional upgrade packages have also been added as standard amenities.

Exterior Details

AMG’s latest limited edition comes cloaked in an Obsidian Black Metallic paint job that’s directly inspired by the team’s current Formula 1 race car. This metallic black hue is complemented via the racer’s hand-painted star pattern and silver Mercedes stars that decorate the side and rear of the vehicle. PETRONAS-colored accents also now run across the front fenders over the beltline to the roof. The entire car also rides on a special set of 21‑inch AMG forged split-spoke wheels that come finished in black with PETRONAS-colored rim flanges.

Interior Elements

The limited edition AMG GT 63’s cabin has also been heavily reworked. The interior now sports a bevy of PETRONAS-colored accents, along with AMG Performance seats as standard with black Nappa leather/microfiber upholstery and PETRONAS-colored stitching. An AMG carbon fiber interior trim package is also present, as is a heated AMG Performance steering wheel trimmed in Nappa leather/microfiber and adorned in PETRONAS-colored stitching. It doesn’t end there as the cabin also comes loaded with special door sills, a “1 out of 200” badge, special PETRONAS-colored lighting, and a 15-speaker Burmester 3D Surround Sound System.

Upgrade Packages As Standard

The GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ “Motorsport Collectors Edition” also comes loaded with the AMG Aerodynamics Package, AMG Extended Night Package, and AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber Package — all as standard. This means this limited edition model gets a front splitter, side sill trims, a fixed rear wing, and a rear diffuser all rendered in exposed carbon. It also sports a darkened radiator grille, special model badging, an AMG fuel filler cap in Silver Chrome, just to name a few of its many standard details and amenities.

On top of the AMG TRACK PACE which records a wealth of data when driving on the racetrack, the marque has also bestowed the limited edition with an AMG carbon ceramic high-performance braking system with six-piston fixed calipers and 16.5-inch floating discs — a normally available upgrade that also comes as standard. Rounding out the included packages on the car is the AMG Driver Assistance Package which includes a 360-degree camera, MBUX Interior Assistant, a head-up display and GUARD 360 vehicle monitoring.

Handcrafted Powertrain

In terms of hardware and mechanics, the “Motorsport Collectors Edition” more or less goes unchanged from the regular GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ — though that’s far from a bad thing, as this means the limited edition comes armed with the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. Paired with a nine-speed AMG Speedshift MCT 9G transmission, each engine is built entirely by hand by a single expert in Affalterbach.

Power & Performance

The twin-turbo V8 that powers the GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ “Motorsport Collectors Edition” is incredibly potent, cranking out a cool 603hp and 627ft-lbs of torque. This impressive horsepower and torque figures allow the daily-drivable supercar to clock 0-60mph runs in under 3.2 seconds and offer a top speed that’s been electronically limited to a still very respectable top speed of 196.97mph.
