Back in 1998, that wasn’t the case, which explains how bourbon enthusiast Stephan Macha of Heidelberg, Germany-based Weine & Feines was able to get Julian Van Winkle III to give him 60 bottles of the latter’s famous family blend, named after Macha’s daughter. This exclusivity makes this bottle of Lottas Home Papa’s Private Family Reserve Rye Whiskey extremely rare. Aged for 13 years, it’s in excellent condition for its age and is up for auction now via Sotheby’s.
