If you’re planning on jumping onto the electric bike / motorbike bandwagon this year, you might as well push the boat out and go for a steed that is beyond compare both in terms of performance and aesthetics. With this in mind the all-new S2 Mulholland Electric Performance Cruiser from LiveWire® will be tough to beat. This impressive machine represents a shift in design at LiveWire® as the company has reimagined the profile and silhouette of the motorcycle – which is typically steered by the gas tank – while also using sustainable materials in key components for the first time.
Available for $15,999, the LiveWire® S2 Mulholland Electric Performance Cruiser provides an impressive bang for your buck and the design of the electric S2 platform marks a significant departure from conventional cruiser motorcycles, which often highlight the gas tank. This shift allowed the design team to craft a novel profile and riding experience that accentuates the brake lines and wiring harness. Such a design fosters a more intimate connection between the rider and the motorcycle, bridging the gap between human interaction and the machine’s inner workings.
The S2 Mulholland advances design innovation by incorporating sustainable and eco-conscious materials in crucial areas of the motorcycle, such as the bodywork, seat, and secondary plastic parts, marking LiveWire’s first venture into environmentally friendly components. The motorcycle’s front and rear fenders are crafted from CAP Hemp bio-composite, showcasing a commitment to sustainable materials. Additionally, its radiator shrouds and wiring caddies are made from HYLON® OCEAN (PCR Nylon 6), sourced from abandoned ocean fishing nets, which helps to decrease the use of petroleum-based plastics.
In a move away from traditional leather or vinyl, LiveWire has opted for a petroleum-free, recyclable silicone for the seat, emphasizing the brand’s dedication to reducing environmental impact. Tipping the scales at 432 pounds, the Mulholland impresses with its ability to sprint from zero to sixty in just 3.3 seconds, courtesy of the robust 84 horsepower and 194 ft-lb of torque at the rider’s disposal. Its 10.5 kWh battery pack provides an impressive 121 miles of range in city conditions and 73 miles on the highway at a steady 55mph.
Furthermore, the Mulholland benefits from the advanced charging technology also found on the Del Mar model, featuring both Level 1 and Level 2 charging capabilities as standard features. By employing a six-inch handlebar riser, the handlebars on the Mulholland are set higher and further back. This design choice offers riders a more upright position, enhancing the cruiser experience and distinctly setting it apart from the flat track-inspired stance of the Del Mar. Equipped with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, the Mulholland rides on Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart IV tyres, perfectly complementing its impressive 55° left and 50° right lean angles for an optimized performance cruiser experience.
