Having recently revealed its first-ever all-electric model — the Lanzador — Lamborghini is currently transitioning to an all-EV portfolio. As it nears full-electrification, however, the Raging Build is making it abundantly clear that just because it’s doing away with gas engines, that its vehicles won’t be losing the extreme performance capabilities that Lamborghini has long been known for. For proof of this, look no further than the Italian firm’s latest electrified release; the Lamborghini Urus SE Plug-In Hybrid luxury sport utility vehicle.
The Urus SE comes on the heels of Lamborghini’s first-ever plug-in hybrid model — the Revuelto. Rather than being created to meet emissions standards, the Urus SE PHEV utilizes a hybrid drive system in order to take the already extremely-capable performance of the “Super SUV” to new heights. The Urus SE is now kicked along by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter 90° V8 cranking out 611hp. Affording a 0-60mph time of just 3.4 seconds, this forced induction V8 now benefits from a 141-kW (189-hp) e-Motor that allows the plug-in hybrid Urus to put down a collective 788.5hp and 590ft-lbs of torque. This means that the PHEV-spec is not only more powerful than the range-topping Urus Performante, but it also boasts a higher top speed of 193.8mph. What’s more, this also makes the Urus SE markedly quicker and more potent than the Audi RSQ8 PHEV that the Urus shares its platform with.
Bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission that benefits from the use of a torque converter, the hybrid drive system also boasts a Lithium-ion battery with prismatic cells that affords the Urus SE PHEV with an all-electric range of just over 37 miles per charge. Helping to make the most of the Super SUV’s newfound power is an advanced four-wheel drive system with an integrated front differential, hang-on central differential, and an electronic rear differential with torque vectoring. A revised aero kit also helps to keep the SUV pinned to the tarmac. Above all else, the Urus SE PHEV demonstrates Lamborghini’s commitment to delivering performance-focused automobiles that offer an exhilarating behind-the-wheel experience — whether it’s a V10 supercar or a hybrid sport utility vehicle.
Available for order now, the 2025 Lamborghini Urus SE Plug-In Hybrid has been priced starting from $258,000.
