First introduced all the way back in 1919, the Indian Scout is one of the oldest and most iconic American motorcycles in history. Continuing to represent the marque’s best-selling model more-than-a-century after its debut, the Scout has steadily grown and evolved over the years, culminating in the release of the latest Scout lineup for the 2025 model year which sees several new variants alongside returning favorites — all of which benefit from a new chassis and a novel engine design.
Building on the foundation of the modern Scout that Indian revived in 2015, the 2025 Scout lineup gains a host of major updates for the latest model year that go far beyond new paint and accessory options. Each model variant comprising the 2025 Scout range is constructed around a new steel tube frame that blends classic styling with contemporary geometry. In addition to bolstering rigidity and performance, the new framework has also been engineered to be as modular and conducive to customization as possible — not unlike the Ducati Scrambler, Yamaha XSR, and BMW R nineT. At the heart of each new Scout variant is a heavily-revised powertrain. Replacing the prior model year’s 1,130cc mill, the 2025’s new “SpeedPlus” engine consists of a 76.3ci (1,250cc) V-Twin with liquid cooling, fuel-injection, and 110hp and 80.4ft-lbs of torque on tap — a noticeable boost over the outgoing model year’s 100hp and 72ft-lb output.
The 2025 Indian Scout lineup includes a total of five models; the Scout Bobber; Sport Scout; Scout Classic; Super Scout; and 101 Scout. The base model Scout Bobber represents a stripped down, minimalistic version of the cruiser motorcycle, while the Scout Sport gains a high back seat, a 19” front wheel, bars on 6” risers, and a quarter fairing. As its name suggests, the Scout Classic receives a retro-inspired treatment that draws inspiration from Scout models of yesteryear. There’s also the similar Super Scout, which is a retro-inspired variant aimed at touring. The most noteworthy trim level in the new lineup is undoubtedly the all-new 101 Scout, which is the most high-performance version of the Scout that Indian has ever produced. Offered in a red livery with white accents or a white livery with red accents, the 101 Scout boasts an adjustable 43mm Inverted fork, adjustable piggyback rear shocks, a cast five-arm wheel set, top-shelf dual-disc Brembo brakes, a cafe racer-inspired quarter fairing, and special 101 graphics, embroidered stitching, and badging — plus a slight boost in power at 111hp and 82ft-lbs of torque. Each of the five models can also be personalized using any of the more-than-100 available factory accessories that Indian is offered for the 2025 Scout range.
The 2025 Indian Motorcycle Scout lineup is available now, with pricing starting from $12,999 for the 2025 Scout Bobber and going up to $16,999 for the 101 Scout.
