The fashion scene is in an interesting place right now, with utility-driven apparel dominating the space, drawing inspiration from workwear, techwear, and outdoor gear. Each of these styles are getting hit with the streetwear treatment, blurring the line between gear and apparel, and it’s exciting to see how different labels approach this blend. HOKA, for example, has carved out a lane in the running scene with instantly recognizable silhouettes that are just as supportive as they are unique, never afraid to embrace color or chunky style. HOKA’s hiking shoes, specifically the Tor lineup, have been a fan favorite for years now, and the label has seen fit to expand it with an updated take on the Summit silhouette: The HOKA Tor Summit, a street-friendly pair of hikers.

This updated silhouette takes a lot of design cues from the original Tor lineup (specifically the Tor Ultra Lo), but features a nubuck leather upper this time around rather than GORE-TEX. This leather upper is wrapped in a textured rubber mudguard to keep debris at bay while you’re on the trails, and it’s finished with a Vibram Megagrip outsole for traction. Of course, you’re getting the same reliable cushioning in the midsole that HOKA’s footwear is known for, along with metal eyelets to really drive that hiker look home.

HOKA is debuting these hikers at Paris Fashion Week, and it’s clear that HOKA’s popularity in the world of fashion is only getting bigger. The Tor lineup is also the perfect candidate to elevate with streetwear style, given the popularity of chunky silhouettes at the moment (and HOKA’s status as an industry darling in both running and hiking communities).
