Welcome to Ape to Gentleman’s Top 10 of the Month feature. We have curated the top trends, insights and advice to help you live your best life.
In this instalment, we’ve handpicked 10 essential topics covering everything from the slickest new menswear collections to this year’s most anticipated blockbuster. Whether you’re seeking inspiration for a wardrobe overhaul, eager to enhance your grooming routine, or simply looking for the best and latest releases, we’ve got you covered.
Let’s explore how to make November your most stylish, successful and satisfying month yet.
Instax WIDE 400
It’s hard not to have a soft spot for Fujifilm’s Instax cameras. They’re easy to use, fun and thankfully veer away from the moustache-fondling “there’s just something about film” brigade.
We’d guess that at least one of the better evenings you’ve had with friends has been captured on Instax. Good news, then, that the Instax WIDE 400 adds an upgrade to the brand’s wide format series.
Available in a new Sage Green colourway, the new release features a self-timer, landscape mode and a macro lens attachment for close-ups.

Kleman FW24
If you haven’t copped a pair of Kleman Padror shoes yet, you’re running out of excuses. The French heritage shoemaker is a solid choice for chunky, fashion-forward footwear, and the brand’s choice of options continues to increase this season.
The FW24 collection features new colourways for the Padror, a black Traverse B2 boot, a monk-strap Convoi shoe and an Oxal boot that will patina like a dream.

LUMI SaunaPRO
No wellness routine is complete without a sauna, just ask Scandinavia. The good news is Lumi now has a compact sauna for the home to complement your love-hate relationship with the ice bath in the garden.
The LUMI Sauno PRO is crafted from premium Hemlock wood and provides a high-quality, carbon far-infrared heater for deep-penetrating warmth. It promotes muscle recovery, detoxification, and relaxation without the extreme heat of traditional saunas.
Strictly for inside use, it also packs immersive sound and light settings.

Haglofs Spitz GTX Pro
It’s that time of the year again, big coat season, but also wonderfully technical, GORE-TEX jacket time. Yes, we’ve seen someone else notable donning a three-panel colourway reminiscent of a German supermarket, but we’ve got our eyes on this beauty from Sweden.
New from heritage outdoors brand Haglöfs is the Spitz GTX Pro jacket. This mountain-ready icon combines high performance with seriously breathable, durable weather protection and enhanced comfort, thanks to three layers of GORE-TEX PRO fabric.
No more excuses for putting off that hike.

Gladiator II
It’s been 24 years since Gladiator (2000) was released. This month sees the second instalment of the Ridley Scott Roman Empire epic, with Paul Mescal starring as Lucius, the son of Russel Crowe’s slave-turned-gladiator, Maximus.
Just like his dad, Lucius is out for retribution and redemption after invading Roman forces kill his wife and force him into slavery. Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington and Connie Nielson also star in what will be one of the year’s biggest blockbusters.
Pour one out for the Nick Cave screenplay that never was.
In cinemas from November 15.
MM6 Maison Margiela x Timex T80 Digital Watch
It’s not often we can point you towards a watch with designer credentials for under £200, but with the MM6 Maison Margiela x Timex T80, that’s exactly what we’re dealing with.
A reimagining of Timex’s retro T80 design, the watch features a 36mm stainless steel case on a brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet. It has a chronograph, daily alarm, timer, month and date display, and our INDIGLO® backlight for night visibility.
If that’s not enough, there’s also a mini version designed to be worn as a ring.

XOPA Single Origin Coffee Liqueur
Christmas is on the way, which means entertaining. And entertaining means a fully stocked drinks cabinet. We’ve been recommending different spirits of late, but don’t let that detract from other important parts of a good cocktail.
No drinks cabinet is complete without a bottle of coffee liqueur, and we’re partial to Casa Barú’s XOPA. The Panamanian distillery has combined single-estate rum with single-origin Caturra coffee, grown and roasted nearby.
Great over ice for coffee lovers, perfect in an espresso martini for everyone else.

HAVEN Ridge Liner Fleece
More crossover gorp for the wintry months, this time from Canadian outdoor and streetwear combiners Haven. The brand is a good one to keep on your radar for the coming season, and we’re especially fond of its Ridge Liner fleeces, which look the part but also pack serious warmth.
Made using material from fleecing OGs Polartec, specifically Alpha® Direct (a fabric originally made for US Special Forces), the liners work as a versatile mid-layer or lightweight outer layer.

Adidas x Wales Bonner FW24
Adidas Originals Wales Bonner has dropped for Fall/Winter 24, and it’s a vibrant streetwear ode to the foundations of hip-hop culture.
Celebrating sportswear, the range features floral vests and tops, draping tracksuits and what feels like the soft launch of Superstar summer.
But don’t dismiss the Samba just yet. FW24 sees the release of two Samba silhouettes – crocodile-printed leather editions of the classic Wales Bonner Samba and Millenium styles – that will put it back on the fashion map for another season.

Proximity, Open Eye Gallery
Liverpool’s Open Eye Gallery is one of the most underrated arts institutions in the country and one of the most forward-thinking. One of a few dedicated photography galleries, the space, which sits on the edge of the city’s Albert Dock, is a bastion of equal parts local and international, with exchange and community at the forefront of its work.
Proximity, by Stephen McCoy, will explore the Merseyside-based photographer’s 45 years capturing the region, ticking the box for all of the above and showcasing Open Eye at its best.
Runs 7 November 2024 – 19 January 2025
