The upcoming Flying Spur is getting a big change — Bentley’s new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain, first seen on the Continental GT Speed. A 584 horsepower, 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 is combined with an 187 horsepower electric motor in the eight-speed transmission, delivering a total of 771 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. If those numbers look familiar, it’s because the powertrain is used in several other Volkswagen Group products, from the Lamborghini Urus SE to the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. Beyond the powertrain announcement, Bentley didn’t offer any more details outside of a slightly updated front fascia. Bentley promises more details closer to the Flying Spur’s launch.
