Ariel is giving the Nomad off-road buggy a massive upgrade with the second-generation Nomad 2. The ground-up redesign uses only three parts from the original Nomad. The signature tube frame now uses larger diameter tubes for increased rigidity and a revised suspension with anti-dive and anti-squat. A Ford ST turbocharged 2.3-liter four makes 305 horsepower mated to a six-speed transmission, pushing the flyweight off-roader from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, and features adjustable launch and traction control. A dual filtration system easily copes with off-road conditions, and the engine intercooler is encapsulated to prevent damage and debris. Despite the open chassis, Ariel was able to improve the aerodynamics of the Nomad, providing better engine cooling and reduced buffeting for passengers. The Nomad 2 is available to order now.
