One of the most memorable sled rides in movie history didn’t start on a snowy hillside — it started at the top of a staircase in Chicago. Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, rode the very same toboggan pictured here down the stairs and out into the front yard in the film. After the production wrapped, writer and producer John Hughes ended up with the prop. The toboggan itself is of classic bent wood construction and shows some scuffs and wear over its 30-plus-year lifespan. The item is currently being auctioned by Heritage Auctions.
