Omega Adds Elegant Black Dials to the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Range

Omega’s Seamaster is one of the most iconic divers on the planet. But in 2002, the Swiss luxury brand launched a brand-new model within the collection that gave impressive underwater prowess to an everyday wristwatch. A diver in name and specs only, the Aqua Terra 150M foregoes the bezel and focuses more on wrist comfort with its array of case diameter options. This week, Omega unveiled a new version of the timepiece with a black lacquer dial, and it’s available across a trio of sizes.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Black Lacquer Basics

A diversion from the traditional teak-style lined dials on most Aqua Terra watches, these new glossy, lacquered black varnish dial versions provide a certain elegance and accessibility that takes the GADA watch up a new notch. They’re available in 41mm, 38mm, and 34mm case sizes and the black color is complemented by either rhodium-plated (41mm, 38mm) or white gold (34mm) hands and indices, as well as the OMEGA logo.

Filled with blue-glowing Super-LumiNova lume, the arrow minute hand and hour hand pair well with the triangular hour markers — although the 34mm version has rounder markers. These go with the small watch’s rounder date window. On the other hand, the 38mm and 41mm versions have a squared date window, both above the 6 o’clock marker. The watches are paired with stainless steel bracelets.

What’s on the Inside?

Retaining the 150m of water resistance, the new stainless steel models have thicknesses of 13.4mm, 12.3mm, and 12mm, and house either the Master Chronometer-certified Caliber 8900 (for the 41mm) or Caliber 8800 (for the 38mm and 34mm) automatic movements, both visible through the exhibition casebacks. The former has 60 hours of power reserve while the latter has 55 hours of power reserve.
