BMW R20 Concept Motorcycle | Uncrate

The R20 first appeared as a 192cc, single-cylinder motorcycle in 1931, part of a German government scheme where motorcycles under 200cc were not subject to tax or license requirements. How times have changed. BMW’s just-unveiled R20 concept packs a 1,999cc boxer-twin, based on the R18’s engine. BMW didn’t release figures, but expect a step up from the R18’s 91 horsepower and 116 lb-ft of torque. The R20’s wheelbase measures 61 inches versus the R18’s cruiser-like 68.2 inches, with a rake of 27.5 degrees, bringing it into striking distance of the RT12 nineT’s specs. Fully-adjustable Ohlins Blackine components make up the fork and rear monoshock, with radial calipers from ISR at the front and rear. Despite it being a concept, the R20 looks ready for production. Expect to see it appear in dealers for the next riding sesason.
