Automobili Pininfarina’s 2025 B95 Hypercar Is the First Barchetta EV

Nearly 100 years ago, arguably the world’s most legendary automobile coachbuilder was founded. Italian-based Pininfarina was responsible for such designs as the Lancia Aurelia, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider, and Ferrari’s 250 GT Berlinetta and Dino 206 GT (just to name a couple). In 2022, Automobili Pininfarina — an electric car manufacturer and spin-off of the namesake design house — came out with its first-ever vehicle, the Battista, named after its founder. It had a powertrain supplied by Rimac capable of a whopping 1,877hp and 1,032 lb.ft of torque. Now, the marque is debuting its follow-up at Monterey Car Week, dubbed the B95.

At first glance, you’ll notice the lack of a front windshield on the B95, nor is there any sort of rooftop option on the open-air vehicle. Many enthusiasts may know these types of cars as barchettas, which have fluctuated in popularity over the past 70 years. The style has been tapped for this upcoming all-electric vehicle — the first barchetta to have such a claim. Like the Battista, the new hypercar has the Rimac-based battery with the same performance specs. To achieve such a feat, the powertrain consists of four of these motors, with each of the wheels being driven by one of them. The car also boasts the world’s first-ever adjustable twin aero screens to help shield occupants inside from the wind.

As impressive as the B95 will be on the road, it can be equally appreciated standing perfectly still. The beautiful exterior looks unlike any car we’ve seen, equipped with a two-tone paint job and elegant shape. Designed to view the interior easily, the vehicle also sports luxurious tan racing seats with houndstooth headrests. The expansive carbon fiber dashboard was built to appear like it was merging with the exterior of the car. Not to mention, each owner will get to decide upon an array of other bespoke feature options.

Only 10 examples of the B95 will be made upon delivery in 2025. Prices are expected to exceed $4.8 million. Head over the Automobili Pininfarina’s website for updates.
