Best Gyms In Bondi 2025

Whether you’re a local or a blow-in, staying in shape in Bondi is non-negotiable. That’s where choosing the best gym for your training style is imperative. Because I’m a local, I tried every gym on this list so you don’t have to.

Besy Gyms In Bondi By Features

VRTUS is the hottest thing in Bondi right now. Rawson and his team have created a popular community of training hard-working people who love to get sweaty. The gym now has two spaces, one on Hall St the other more significant on Bondi Road. The Bondi Road VRTUS (previously a panel beater workshop) also has ice baths and saunas and a cafe and physios practising in the rooms above.

Whilst VRTUS mainly offers HIIT classes that mix strength and cardio, they do offer memberships to use the spaces for weight training. The trainers are nice and keep you honest throughout the hard workouts.

Agoga

We’ve long been friends with the team at Agoga. John and his team have a very loyal following of Agogans who enjoy this small studio for a new workout every week. Stronger, Faster and Leaner are their core HIIT programs suitable for all fitness levels.

Classes range from 6 to 15 people and are always a challenge. If you’re new to exercise or a little out of shape, start with Stronger, then move on to Leaner or Faster.

The Well

The Well has been in operation for nearly 10 years now, and was founded by a high fashion tycoon who changed tact to pursue his passion for preventative health. A huge advocate for avoiding injury and sickness by finding out as much about your body as you can, The Well provides a spacious layout that is mostly tailored toward the yoga and pilates crew, with a little bit of gym thrown in.

Operating around four core pathways of wellness, each is independent but integrated with the aim of leading clients to total wellbeing. Their team promise to look across all these elements to identify what you need, with a special focus on what you’ll most enjoy. In our experience, they’re pretty darned good at it too.

Beachouse

The recently opened Beachouse (with one H) is a touch of Miami in Bondi. With dusty salmon hues and views across Bondi, this gym has quickly become the most popular in town. Due to its popularity, the gym boasts a modest range of equipment and can get busy, but expect that to calm down.

There’s a wide selection of cardio equipment, and it’s all Technogym, which will please many. The change rooms are deluxe, with free digital lockers and private toilets. The gym is also connected to Slow House, the Uber sauna, and the plunge space. The usual bumfuckery of Instapeanuts doing handstands and peacocking around the gym will provide great entertainment during workouts.

Disclaimer: Two DMARGE employees currently call this gym home.

98 Gym

98 Gym’s central claim is that their unrivalled, global-industry standard of expertise will turn training into an intrinsic part of your well-being. Whether you are an elite sports person, avid fitness-fanatic or just starting your fitness journey, 98 Bondi offers the facilities and community to support and back your fitness goals.

Boasting trainers from a range of backgrounds — from former elite athletes to members of the defence force — they’ve got over 50 years of combined expertise between them and are committed to providing an experience as well as an education for their members.

An unique part of their offer that we really like is their quarterly ‘All In’ workout where members of all 98 Gyms will be invited to participate in a Game Day session at one of their locations free of charge. A lot of gyms talk about “community”, but this is an example of 98 walking the walk.

Bondi Icebergs

So far as iconic spots in Bondi go, Icebergs is hard to beat, but while many flock for the restaurant and pool, far fewer are switched on to the pretty excellent gym facilities the site offers too.

With panoramic views from the South end of Bondi, it wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that there’s no gym in the world quite like it. They opened doors on 1st March 2019 under the new management of Ben Cush with a space completely renovated and redesigned by sought after interior architect Akin Atelier.

The gym is nicely decked out with state of the art equipment from Technogym and Aussie Strength, catering for all fitness levels and ages. A real added bonus is that all memberships include gym, pool and sauna access, so there’s no tiered membership nonsense that seems to be the norm at so many places these days.

Note: it’s a small and very exclusive spot, so there’s sometimes a waitlist for membership. Suck it up.
