When selecting your next pair of wireless earbuds, you don’t have to go with a premium brand but I promise you the difference will be noticeable almost every time. Already producing arguably the best over-ear headphones on the market, which just got their first update in four years, Bang & Olufsen has now unveiled the newest edition of its flagship earbuds.
Improved Sound and Less-Annoying ANC
With active noise cancellation (ANC) and compact audio economics improving with each passing year, these companies have more than justified new generations popping up on a near-annual basis. As such, the Beosound Eleven (marking the 11th generation of the model) delivers sound through a 9.2mm Neodymium driver in each ear with a 20 to 20,000Hz range and features what Bang & Olufsen is calling the best noise cancellation technology in any of its earbuds to date.
The buds feature what they’re calling “pressure-relief outlets,” which I can assume means will alleviate some of that earplug sensation that can get annoying with ANC after a while. Likewise, the earbuds boast a Transparency Mode that can be activated with the touch of a finger. The ANC is said to be 2x better than that on the outgoing Beosound EX model and the Transparency mode is 1.8x better (not sure who’s measuring this or how).
There’s also a Wind Guard, which serves as a sort of mesh pop filter for improved listening in crowds or noisy environments. This will also be beneficial when making phone calls.
The Look and Feel
Looks-wise, the Eleven is almost identical to the EX model, and thus, should fit similarly as well, equipped here with four silicone ear tip sizes. Made from hardened glass and rated to IP57 for waterproofing, the Eleven comes in the same pearl-blasted aluminum case as the EX as well, with a sleek appearance that gets you wireless charging and only about 2oz extra weight.

Pricing & Availability
It’s important to note that the Beosound Eleven, priced at $499, will be $100 more than the EX. So basically, Bang & Olufsen is banking hard on the new tech installed in the earbuds, which is a good thing as long as the results are there. Colored in natural aluminum, the in-ear monitors are available now with a copper model coming in December.
