1987 Porsche 959 Komfort | Uncrate

Porsche left nothing wanting when it introduced the 959 in 1986. The twin-turbocharged 959 built on Porsche’s endurance credentials, meeting the FIA’s homologation requirements for at least 200 production units of the car originally developed for Group B rally racing. Compared to the Countach and F40, the 959 featured technological improvements not seen outside of top-tier racing like an all-wheel-drive system that dynamically distributed torque between the front and rear wheels. The 959 pictured here was sold new in France before arriving in the US in 2002. Since coming to the States, the car has been under the care of the Porsche experts at Canepa, with just 14,68 miles on the odometer. The car sold for $1.7 million at Mecum’s recent Kissimmee event.
